The Kneel Oughters

This post is dedicated to the millions of people who live in this country who have a basic goodness and who, because of that basic goodness, are a salt like preservative in this country, which has stayed the hand of God’s wrath from wiping this place out long before now.  If it was not for you, the destruction would have already occurred.

Near the ancient cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, God appeared to his servant Abraham in the form of three messengers, to warn him of the impending destruction of these two cities because of their sinful, abominable practices.  Now of course Abraham knew that his relative, Lot, lived there with his wife and two daughters.

Abraham made an appeal to God by saying, surely God will not destroy the righteous along with the wicked?  Abraham said, what if there are 50 righteous ones there, will you destroy the place with these 50 there?.  God replied, he wouldn’t destroy it for the sake of the 50.  Then in a back and forth conversation they went in the same manner down in increments of 5 or 10 to 10.  God said he would not destroy the cities if there were 10 righteous persons therein.  As it turned out, there was only ONE, Lot himself, of whom Peter says while he (Lot) lived among that wickedness, “it vexed his righteous soul from day to day”.  This is written to those good ones who live in the present Sodom and Gomorrah, while it vexes their righteous souls from day to day.

God is still in the business of destroying cities today, but he causes it to happen in a seemingly subtle “natural” cycle like process of governance in cities by those who are not made for said governance, which, or who, eventually cause the city’s collapse from greed, political corruption, sexual perversion, and pervasive crime, along with it’s enablement by the courts and legal system, which also then favor the wicked /criminal over the victim, which again, is the manifestation of evil being good and good-evil.  When this process begins to happen, then the good begin to leave the city(Sodom); at first it is a trickle until circumstances become worse, then it becomes an outgoing flood.

These good people we call “kneel oughters”.  They believe they “ought to kneel” when they pray or enter a “house of worship”.  They don’t have to.  They don’t even have to attend such a “house”.  Jesus said to a woman he met at a well that “there comes an hour (or the time is coming when…) and now is, when the real worshippers shall worship the Father in Spirit and Truth, for even the Father is seeking such as these as his worshippers”.

The outward things people do as part of their religious worship – kneeling, making the sign of the cross, fingering beads, going to a special building on certain days, listening to a sermon, taking communion, etc., are not necessary.  God requires NONE OF THESE THINGS.  However, MEN REQUIRE it because they need you to further entrench their power over you and to keep you forking over the ducats to perpetuate their “ought to” system- their buildings, programs, etc.

You can pray on the toilet or standing at a urinal, or at the sink with an apron on, or stuck in traffic at rush hour.  The key is HONESTY, which is what Jesus meant by, “in spirit and truth”.  God already knows what you are thinking.  You don’t need to confess your sins to a “priest” either, for God has already established a mediator – Jesus – the only mediator between God and man.

Most kneel oughters have been  taught from childhood their religious “ought to’s” and find it very hard to let them go.  They feel they have so many other worries and don’t want to add any new ones to their already large pile, so they stay in the system.  This is where God’s mercy comes in.  His mercy “covers a multitude of sins” as well as the pile of ought to’s that men saddle the backs of these little ones with.  This is why He has only two commandments:  Love God with all your heart and soul, and your neighbor as yourself.  A very simple plan.

Mercy and it’s partner, forgiveness, are two words describing one of the main characteristics of God – SILENCE.  It is a kind of divine forgetfulness.. How can God, the great mind who created all things be forgetful?  Because what Jesus did made him forget:

Jeremiah 31:33-34 ” I will put my law within them, yes, on their heart will I write it.  So I will become their God and they shall become my people. Then shall thay no longer teach every man his neighbor and every man his brother saying, know ye Yahweh, for I will forgive their iniquty and their sin will I remember no more”.

As god is merciful and forgiving and forgets our sin, which is in essence a condition of silence, so shall those who are good be to their detractors.  The city (the mind) of silence, is kept (preserved from harm) for it’s silence….
